Calling all YYC Clean Energy Folks

ccatIn my next life, my goal is to work in the environmental industry. Hopefully renewables. In preparation for my return to school in May to get my masters in Sustainable Energy Development, I’m getting out there and meeting all kinds of great people who work in the industry to learn as much as I can and figure out where I hope to fit someday. I happily stumbled across this event and asked if they needed any volunteers… Turns out they’re looking for help to spread the word… For all you clean energy techies out there, this is a great summit coming up in Calgary on March 5. You should totally go!

The Calgary Council for Advanced Technology is hosting its 3rd annual Innovation Summit: Clean Energy Technologies. For an opportunity to hear a diverse range of speakers, network with new peeps, meet industry leaders and see new technologies in person at the mini-trade show, and get dinner to boot, check out the summit event site at CCAT.

Guest speakers include Perry TomsCEO of Steeper Energy Canada. SEC is an independent project development company that has an exclusive license in North America for the exploitation and commercialization of Denmark’s Hydrofaction™ technology platform for the transformation of lignite coal and/or residual biomass from a variety of forestry, paper, agricultural and industrial sources. Additional speakers will include Dan Themig, President of Packers Plus Energy Services Inc., James Cran, Principal at Altaplan Consultants Ltd., and Peter Chernick, Program Manager of the Northeast BC (NEBC) Shale Gas Group at Nexen.

  1. Hi Kristina, you investigate clean energy initiatives in Finland – there is a huge industry here for that. Might give you some ideas.
